How could you hurt me

how could you ever leave me when
no one knows how to love you but me
how could you ever feel you were free

and if you think it’s ok to cry, I’ll cry
I’ll weep the mountain down
but hushed up never to make a sound
if you think I should die, I’ll die.

how could you ever hurt me when
I never knew how to hurt you
and took the flowers of every moment I had
and tied them up in love for you.

and if you thought I would ever leave you
I will still be there in your sigh
and as long as there are stars and the moon to see by
I shall never die.
